Ref: NLB1472A well-established Accountancy business based in Hemel Hempstead are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support an existing well-established team. The successful individual should have worked in a finance role previously, ideally within practice and have experience in assisting with processing PAYE and VAT returns, bank and balance sheets reconciliations and communication with HMRC. Recent use of Sage 50 accounts and payroll would be advantageous.
The business is based in excellent located offices and offers access to local amenities and free parking. The company encourage employees with their development and will offer study support.
• Registering companies for VAT and PAYE and Corporation Tax
• Processing PAYE and VAT returns
• Processing of client payroll
• Pensions processing and reconciliation
• Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with Management Information preparation for clients
• Adhering to all filing deadlines – which includes chasing clients for missing information
• Communicating with HMRC on behalf of the client
• Assisting with IR35 compliance (tax legislation)
• Accounting or tax qualifications preferable (can be working towards one)
• Able to multi-task and prioritise
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude
• Excellent level of literacy, written communication and analytical skills
• Excellent level of numeracy & commercial judgement
• Advanced Excel knowledge
• Experience utilising Sage 50 Accounts/Sage 50 Payroll
