Assistant Payroll Manager

Job Summary:

NLB Solutions are working with a multi-site business that are looking to recruit for a new Assistant Payroll Manager. The company have started to major recovery since the restriction started to ease over 12 months ago now and have seen growth rather than just steady recovery. The business need an experienced payroll individual that is used to dealing with multiple payrolls, looking after weekly and monthly payrolls. With variable pay rates, depending on age locations and allocated shifts, this role requires an individual that has an eye for details and is able to communicate with regional managers.

The company have relocated to Watford into new refurbished offices and have an excellent working environment. The role reports into a group Payroll Manager that has a reputation for supporting and developing staff whilst offering the team a chance to take on responsibilities.
Duties:
- Assist with weekly and monthly payroll
- Monitor and respond to payroll queries
- Payroll journals and balancing control accounts
- BACs payments as required
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure payroll data is completed accurately
- Payroll reconciliations (apprenticeship levy and pensions)
- Year-end duties to include processing P11Ds and P60s
- Monitor and maintain compliance of internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Provide support with project activity as required
- Provide cover for the Payroll Manager in periods of absence
Person Spec:
- Excellent communication skills
- UK payroll experience
- Excellent Excel experience
- Understanding of auto enrollment
