NLB Solutions are working exclusively with a business based in St Albans for a finance assistant. The finance assistant with report directly into the finance manager and assist with all aspects of finance whilst being responsible for both ledgers and expenses. The role is looking for an experienced individual that is looking for growth and development to help take the role forward.
The company have excellent offices and parking which coupled with the mentoring of a finance manager will offer long term prospects to help someone take the next step to qualification going forward. The role will allow someone to take on management accounts in the future.
• Assisting the Finance Manager with preparation of cash flow forecasts
• Payment processing/Banking
• Daily cash book management/ recording of transactions
• Bank reconciliations
• Assisting the Finance Manager with preparation of management accounts and various other financial reports
• The processing of purchase and sales ledger invoices
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of CIS returns to HMRC
• Handling HMRC queries
• Overseeing and maintaining the operative payroll process
• Assisting with payroll queries
• Overseeing the employee expenses process and ensuring compliance with company policy
• Assisting with the audit and any audit queries
• Maintaining mailboxes used to communicate with clients and external parties
• Ad Hoc queries & supporting team members in the day to day running of the finance department
• Experience of working in a finance team
• Ideally from a construction background but not necessary
• Ideally Sage 50
• Excellent communication skills
